High Court Scuttles Challenge To Rep. Hamilton’s Campaign

The New Mexico Supreme Court has affirmed a decision by a lower court to allow seven-term Republican State Rep. Dianne Hamilton’s name to appear on the November 2012 General Election ballot despite a legal challenge by a Democratic opponent.
In a 3-to-1 ruling, the justices upheld the decision of Judge Henry Quintero of the 6th Judicial District, who had earlier determined that Hamilton, who hails from Silver City, had enough legitimate voter signatures on her nominating petitions. The justices did not ……
