Man Attempts Suicide After Suffocating Wife

A 64-year-old Arrey man is in custody on an open count of murder after he called 911 Sunday night, January 17, reporting that he may have killed his wife. Charges of murder have been filed against Charles L. Lipscomb, who also told dispatchers during the 911 call that he didn’t want to live anymore, so he had cut himself with a paring knife.
Sierra County Sheriff’s Deputies made their way to Lipscomb’s Ganite Road home where, through the Sierra County Regional Dispatcher, had Lipscomb come out of the residence. The officers rushed inside the house to locate the lifeless body of his 46-year-old wife. According to court documents, they located the woman wrapped in a blanket laying on a bed with her head and an arm exposed. One of the officers believed he felt a pulse and the other indicated the woman’s body was still warm to the touch. The two immediately began lifesaving measures until they were relieved by Sierra Vista Hospital ambulance personnel, who eventually stopped CPR after consulting a doctor…
