Hospital CEO Search Narrowed

Sierra Vista Hospital (SVH) Governing Board members gathered for another special session Wednesday, January 8, with the primary focus again directed toward the selection of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). During their previous special meeting on December 30, the governing board approved the formation of an ad-hoc committee to begin the formal assessment of candidates for the CEO position. The committee includes T-or-C board representative Warren Cross, Sierra County representative Denise Addie-Villagomez, board Secretary Dr. Greg D’Amour and board Chairman Terry Egan. The January 8 session did not include any discussion about the ad-hoc committee’s efforts, but action taken following the board’s closed-door session indicated an initial selection had been made. After reopening into a public session, the board directed the ad-hoc committee to reconvene and approved a motion for its members to begin negotiations with an as yet-unnamed applicant. No specific timeline was attached to the negotiations, but SVH authorities are undoubtedly anxious to secure a quality administrator. Tthe governing board has scheduled a meeting with the hospital’s Joint Powers Commission for a combined session at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 17. Any action required of both governing bodies could be swiftly addressed at that session should the negotiations prove fruitful.
