Flawed Data: NM PED Failing In Teacher Evaluations

In late September the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) released its teacher evaluations to 21,000 teachers across the state. With some, the report was welcome and with others, not so much. As might be expected, frequently teachers welcoming the news also received a good report. In some instances these reports have proven helpful in advancing teacher performance and increasing professional accountability and improvement. However, the teacher evaluation process has come under fire since its inception.
