A multi-law enforcement agency effort has resulted in the arrest of 16 adults and six juveniles on a multitude of charges and warrant services. The Truth or Consequences Police Department and Seventh Judicial District Attorney’s Office led the effort Tuesday, September 4 that involved federal, state and local law enforcement.
More than 70 law enforcement officers took to the streets in what was dubbed “Operation Summer’s End,” culminating a narcotics investigation that began in February 2012. Eleven of the adults were charged with felonies, two were picked up on misdemeanor charges and three were wanted on outstanding warrants for failure to pay fines.
The recent round up makes the year-to-date total number of arrests in operations locally reach nearly 50 persons by the T-or-C Police Department and Seventh Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Information in those previous operations contributed a great deal to the arrests made in this effort, as information obtained through drug supplier’s cell phones will be used as evidence against many of the newly arrested….
